Of Dreams and Desires

We live in a world that constantly requires us to do things, to be something and to become someone.
All of us have our own set of dreams.
To dream is easy, but how many of us are actually turning these dreams to reality?

Each of us want to be something , to do something. It may be acquiring a well paying job or to be a musician or becoming the President of a country.
Throughout our childhood we are asked this question 'what is your ambition in life?' 'what do you want to become?
Some of us are sure of the answers to these questions at a young age, but for some of us,these answers change constantly before we are finally sure.
Discovering what we want to do is the first step in the battle that will follow.
Believing and trusting in one self is most important. When you are confident about yourself, you are half way there.
Some of us might be lucky. For some of us what we love will be given to us in a silver platter.
But there are many of us who will have to work extremely hard before the goal is reached.

A few days ago, I was watching J.K Rowling's speech at the Harvard commencement and I was quiet inspired by her talk and it gave me many thoughts to ponder upon. Her journey to becoming the famous writer that she is was not easy. She tells us how failure has its benefits as she failed a number of times,. She had the courage and the will power to follow her dreams and work towards it against all odds.
I have seen so many people, acquaintances ,friends, family members who complain that they are in the wrong place and that their real interest lies some where else.
It is easy to say that you wanted this and you wanted that. It is so easy to give up on your dreams when there is a rough patch. It is so easy to blame your family for stopping you.
You can't just sit and expect things to happen on its own.
You need to fight every obstacle and win every war.
When you have the desire and the strength you can achieve anything.
Nothing is truly impossible. You just need to keep fighting.
Real passion will lead to success.

And the satisfaction of succeeding at something you love and wanted is the best form of happiness!
